I split my childhood between Vancouver, Canada and Taipei, Taiwan, and currently live in San Francisco, California. I am a bold and ambitious designer who loves challenges and is not afraid to fail. I am caring, open and love to experience new cultures by talking to people. This allows me to experience their values first hand.
It is important to make your design look attractive, but a design that has no meaning or concept behind it fails. The saying “use what god gives you,” by Jeremy Mende represents how I approach design--fearless and versatile.
Design is visual communication. As a visual and UI/UX designer you must be able to interact and understand what your clients want and make it work. Designs with abstract meanings may be able to touch the mass audience, but often lose them in a dazzling haze that ultimately falls short of communicating the original objective. Instead, a successful design accomplishes the unity of both the aesthetic and underlying values.
I’m in favor of collaborative design. I have an intuitive process that is in conversation with the client’s ideas. As a designer it’s easy to be different but it's harder to be different yet follow the rules with your unique personality.
